"Sleek, portable YAY! No case/bag, no firewire BOO!" 2009-11-21
By Ewoldson
Few features actually distinguish one portable hard drive from another, but a couple really matter to me: size, shape, durability/reliability, capacity, and data transfer speeds. I bought this drive because Seagate is well known for successfully making drives that meet or exceed standards for these traits and I read a number of reviews that rave about this drive for Mac users.

Unfortunately, I messed up and ordered the model that does not have a firewire connection. USB kinda sucks as the only option for data transfer, especially when this drive was intended to serve as a back up for iTunes library and documents. I should have ordered this one: http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-FreeAgent-Portable-Drive-Silver-ST905003FJA105-RK/dp/B001KA9QJK/ref=pd_cp_e_0

I admit it was my mistake ordering the wrong one. Knowing there are faster options makes this an inferior product by comparison. For what it is though, it is indeed solid, portable, sleek, and hefty in capacity. Oh, and it doesn't come with a bag or case or anything. Final word: pretty great, I've had better.
